After the turn of the century, the indie rock scene of New York City was blossoming and produced some great bands that have stood the test of time. You would have to put Interpol near the top of that list. The band has only recorded five studio albums since 2002, but of the five, their debut album, Turn On the Bright Lights, has been highly celebrated by fans and critics alike. Marking the 15th anniversary of its release, Interpol announced 22 dates in which the band would perform the album in its entirety. Of the 22 dates, only two would be performed in the US; one show in Los Angeles and one in their hometown of New York City. But the week leading up to the New York show, the band also scheduled an intimate show at the Bowery Ballroom the night before their Forest Hills date. Fortunately for me, my good friend and photographer, James Villa, was attending both shows and he was lucky enough to get photo access to the Forest Hills Stadium performance.
