North Texas once again welcomed Post Malone back home with back to back sold out shows at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas. The If Ya’ll Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying tour made its way into Texas over the weekend before heading out west where it will wrap up in California. The hometown crowd made sure Posty didn’t shed a tear and kept a smile on his face as fans showed up early and full of energy.
As the lights went dark and the stage filled with smoke, the focus was on the string quartet that began playing a dramatic entrance piece. One by one band members made their way to their spots. This is the first tour Posty has had with a complete band backing him up. The roar of the crowd peaked as the man of the night made his way to center stage. With a red solo cup in hand, Malone greeted the packed crowd that withstood the 100+ degree weather by holding his cup up in the air.
Malone came out swinging with “Better Now,” his hit from the 2018 album, beerbongs & bentleys. Posty didn’t make his fans wait long to see him throw down his now signature dance moves that they love to see. During the song “Wow”, Austin Richard Post broke into his Napoleon Dynamite-style dancing that made the ladies in the crowd scream even louder than they already were. Constantly engaging with the crowd throughout the night, Posty made sure to let every single person in the crowd know how much he appreciated them showing up for him. It would be difficult to find another artist that has more fun on stage than Post Malone. He looks to be having the time of his life every time he performs. This night was no different.
The nearly two hour long set included 25 songs that picked tracks from very album. From his breakout single “White Iverson” to his recently released “Enough is Enough,” Post made sure to touch the various styles of music he loves. From rap songs, to rock songs, to ballads, there was something for everyone. If you ever question why Post Malone is as big a star as he is, I recommend going to one of his shows and you will see for yourself why he is loved by so many.
