Depeche Mode @ Starplex Pavilion, Dallas, TX

Knock one off the old bucket list.  Much like KISS and the Cure, the Depeche Mode are a band I have listened to for many years and have fond memories of their music growing up.  It's very surprising that after all of these year, I have yet to see them perform live, but on the heels of their latest release, Spirit, the pioneering electronic group from Essex made their way to the Starplex Pavilion during their Global Spirit Tour.  Much like most shows during a tour following a release, the band performed five songs from Spirit, the most from any of their albums, including their opener, "Going Backwards".  But unlike most bands, Depeche Mode have a catalog reaching back to 1980.  While some would not be entirely satisfied with the setlist, i.e. missed classics, rare cuts, et cetera, the band played a flawless set including hits like "Enjoy the Silence" and "Everything Counts".  During their encore, the band paid homage to the late, great David Bowie with a cover of "Heroes" before ending the show with "I Feel You" and perhaps their biggest hit, "Personal Jesus".  Needless to say, this was an amazing show.

Photos of the show are below:

enjoy.
