For those of you who didn't know, I will be moving to New York City next month. It has been a long time coming and I am very excited about it. At the moment, finding a job is my top priority. Another perk about moving to the Big Apple is the out-of-this-world music scene. Not only is NYC a haven for incredible talent, venues and record labels but is a necessary stop for any local, national and international band on tour. This means unless I'm busy, I could possibly see any band I want on any given night. Yes!!! As good as it sounds, it will be a burden to my wallet. So, being selective will be necessary.
At the moment, I have only bought tickets to one show in NYC (Animal Collective, Prospect Park) but will be definitely be looking forward to the Brooklyn Pool Parties; the Pool Parties, originally at McCarren Pool Park, are a series of free concerts that will take place on the Williamsburg waterfront. Renovations at McCarren Park have forced the the Pool Parties to relocate for this year. Honestly, I could care less where it's at if the music is good.
enjoy.
