Joji’s Smithereens Tour packed the Factory in Deep Ellum in Dallas on Tuesday night. Some fans had even waited in line for over eight hours to get to the front of the barricade. The beginning of the show began with hip-hop artist Savage Realm. He was very fun and entertaining to watch and engaged with the crowd in between every song, and even had a rock paper scissors competition in the middle of the pit.
Rei Brown was the next and final opener for the show. You could tell there were tons of fans of Rei in the audience by the loud cheers and hearing everyone sing along to every song. Some fans even cheered for an encore after he finished his set. He put on a great show and got the fans hyped and ready for Joji to enter the stage.
The crowd roared as Joji appeared onstage as he began his set with his song “Sanctuary” from his 2020 album, Nectar. Joji performed his song up on a 10-foot, tall stage built on top of the existing stage. After singing a few songs Joji revealed a surprise he had hidden on stage and uncovered a catapult. He then shot merch into the crowd and continued performing.
As the night came to an end Joji finished off his set performing two of his most popular songs, “Slow Dancing In The Dark” and “Glimpse of Us”. The audience sang along to both songs at the top of their lungs. It felt like every person in the room was singing along. It was an amazing ending to a great show. The Smithereens Tour was unforgettable.
