Headlining his first solo tour, Daniel Seavey sold out the Cambridge Room at the House of Blues in Dallas. The show began with opener Devin Kennedy who performed some of his songs off his 2019 EP You & Me, That’s Enough. The crowd fell in love once he started singing. After his performance the entire room of screaming girls cheered for Daniel Seavey as he came onto the stage.
He began his set with his song “Can We Pretend That We’re Good” and the crowd sang along to every word. Before tonight I had only really known Daniel Seavey from his former band Why Don’t We and I was extremely impressed not only by his amazing voice but also how he could play multiple instruments. After performing his first song he became a one-man band playing all the instruments during each song using a looper to switch from one instrument to the next. Throughout the night he covered songs like “Redbone” by Childish Gambino, “Bad Habit” by Steve Lacy, and many more. He switched from guitar, bass, piano, drums, and even the cello. After performing some crowd favorite covers he performed an unreleased song called “I tried” from his new album that releases on January 13th.
You could tell the crowd adored Daniel with the constant screaming and cheering. Daniel put on an amazing show. Not only was the music great but it was one of the most interactive shows I’ve seen. If you haven’t seen Daniel Seavey live on his first solo headlining tour I would definitely recommend catching one of his shows.
