Hippo Campus did not disappoint at the sold-out House of Blue with their extensive and diverse discography. Since their last appearance back in 2019, the Minnesota natives have released their third album, LP3, which was heavily featured in their 21-song setlist, accompanied by already well known hits such as "Bad Dream Baby" and "South". Lead vocalist, Jake Lupen, rocking a Dallas Cowboys hat, drove the quintet’s presence with his whimsical, lighthearted commentary and relaxed demeanor. This energy set the stage for two amazing solos from trumpeter Decarlo Jackson and guitarist Nathan Stocker. After about an hour and 19 songs, the band returned on stage to perform their two most recognizable songs, "Bambi" and "Buttercup", with more than eager crowd participation. Hippo Campus’s ever-changing sound created an almost nostalgic and ecstatic listening experience fusing their indie-rock roots with flashy electronic instrumentals.
