The South Side Ballroom was packed for I Prevail’s sold out show on their True Power North American Tour. This was one of the most packed shows I have seen at South Side. The crowd was filled with fans from every band that played including Yours Truly, Fit for a King, Pierce The Veil, and I Prevail.
The show began with Yours Truly, an Australian pop-punk band who put on a super fun set. There were tons of fans in the crowd that already knew them and sang along to all of their songs. The lead singer Mikaila Delgado had one of the most amazing voices and it was great to see a band with a strong female singer.
Next up was Fit for a King, a band from Tyler, TX. Their bassist, Ryan "Tuck" O'Leary, was one of the most energetic people I've ever seen perform. He was able to jump, kick, and spin all while playing the bass. He even climbed on top of the bar during a performance. Their set was amazing and got the crowd pumped for the final opener of the night, Pierce The Veil.
Pierce The Veil’s set began with songs from their 2012 album, Collide With The Sky like “Bulls In The Bronx” and the entire crowd went crazy. Everyone in the crowd sang along to every song, but when they performed “King For A Day”, the crowd sang at the top of their lungs not missing a single lyric.
Finally the crowd was ready for I Prevail to enter the stage. They began their set with “There’s Fear In Letting Go” from their latest album TRUE POWER. There were mosh pits and crowd surfing the entire show. After playing their last song “Come and Get It” from their 2016 album Lifelines, the crowd cheered for an encore. For one of their final songs I Prevail played one of my favorite songs “Bow Down”. The crowd went crazy during this song with lots of moshing and head banging.
