Kicking off a warm, Friday evening at the Pageant was Jimmy Eat World headlining a packed house. Once the doors opened, Microwave, a soft-rock band from Atlanta, GA, took the stage. Warming up the crowed with a handful of songs, frontman Nathan Hardy brought one hell of a show to start off the night. After a magnificent performance from Microwave, up next was co-headliner The Hotelier, a mixture of multiple genres including a bit of pop punk and rock and roll. The crowd fed off the band's energy singing along to their songs, while the band's warm lighting gave the show more of a warmer vibe. Bass player and frontman, Christian Holder's wide vocal range gave the sound of multiple genres. I personally enjoyed how their sound would change each song they performed. One song would give off a pop punk sound and the last few I had in the photo pit sounded very unique. The drums were banging, the guitar shredding and the vocals made the experience enjoyable for all.

For the last of the evening, and the whole reason for everyone converged to the Pageant, Jimmy Eat World took the stage opening the show with "Bleed American", causing the audience to go crazy once the lights lit up the band. From the photo pit, feeling the energy exchanged between the band and the audience (and vice versa) was insane. Closing the show, Jimmy Eat World provided a nostalgic encore with their songs "The Middle", "Sweetness", and "Invented". Wrapping up the night with a thank you to the audience, it was a fun concert for all and hopefully all the artists roll through St. Louis next year in 2019!  Photos of the show are below:
