Bishop Briggs @ House of Blues, Cambridge Room, Dallas, TX

That girl Bishop, Briggs that is, brought her BB The Tour to a sold out Cambridge Room at the House of Blues in Dallas.  While Briggs, formerly Bishop and still Sarah McLaughlin, has yet to release a full-length release, she has been selling out venue after venue on this tour and has no plans of looking back.  To date, she has released two EP's, both titled Bishop Briggs, the first being a vinyl-only release for Record Store Day Black Friday and the second, a six-song, digital copy released April of this year.  With only a handful of studio tracks, Briggs relied heavily on unreleased material for her headlining show.

During Briggs' set, she roams the stage back and forth, like a caged tiger, making constant eye contact with the audience.  She only stops to either jump around onstage or lean over to belt out lyrics to one of the 14 songs she performed this evening.  And boy, this girl can sing.  She has a fantastic set of lungs on her and she hits every note with some ferocity.  And as with most rising stars, she made sure to take the time to engage her fans and share her excitement and gratitude with them.  The 250+ in audience took in Briggs as she roamed the Cambridge stage, singing along to her singles, "The Way I Do" and "Wild Horses" before ending her set with her biggest hit to date, "River".  Briggs has the talent and showmanship to really make a name for herself and it was pretty neat to catch her at a smaller venue as she continues to ride up the fame train.
