Thrice / La Dispute / Nothing, Nowhere @ Gas Monkey Live!, Dallas, TX

After going on hiatus in 2012, California rockers Thrice came to back to Dallas for a memorable night.  Opening up the show was a band called Nothing, Nowhere.  They are a very interesting, mixing together melodic rock with hip hop.  My interest grew even more once I tried (and failed) to find out more about the band.  Their internet presence is sparse so check out the band's Soundcloud account for music.

Up next was La Dispute, a post hardcore band from Michigan.  La Dispute puts on a very dimly lit but energetic show.  Gas Monkey Live! has an incredible lighting system but the band opted to use their own lights to create an atmosphere that compliments their music.

Rounding out the night was Thrice who were touring their ninth studio release, To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere.  Including their encore, Thrice played a 20-song setlist that had fans crowdsurfing by the fourth song.  As expected, the majority of their setlist came from the bands latest release but they made sure to play fan favorite, "The Artist in the Ambulance".  Though their latest tour has ended, check out the bands website for when future tour dates are announced.
