OU Sooners vs. KU Jayhawks @ Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, Norman, OK

After a woeful 1-2 start to the season, the Oklahoma Sooners have found their offensive footing and have clawed their way back into the Big 12 title discussion and a long shot for a Playoff birth after the dismantling of the Kansas Jayhawks, 56-3.  The Sooners have played in a plethora of offensive shootouts (see TCU, Texas, and the mind-boggling Texas Tech game) but the 16th-ranked team made great strides against the Jayhawks to reinvigorate and solidify a defensive unit that has been burned a number of times this season.  The Sooners held the Jayhawks to only 170 total yards while picking off Montell Cozart twice in the contest.
One the offensive side of the ball, Baker Mayfield had a modest day with 236 yards but did have four touchdowns through the air.
The explosive Dede Westbrook continued to build on his breakout season, taking two punts to the house, only to have one called back on a penalty.  He also led the Sooners with 230 all-purpose yards, more than doubling second-best Joe Mixon's 109.
With a win over the Jayhawks, the Sooners are in the hunt for their first back to back Big 12 Championships since 2006 to 2008.  As long as the defense continues to improve, this Sooner team has no limits and can slowly make their way back into the Playoff conversation or, at the very least, make a statement that they are still the best program in the Big 12 and finish the season in the Top 10.  Not bad for a team that started out 1-2.
