The masked, metal men from Iowa were back in Dallas, the third consecutive year they made a stop at the Gexa Energy Pavilion (the fourth in the last five years, but who's counting?).  This time around, they brought along metalcore's Of Mice and Men and the Pale Emperor himself, Marilyn Manson, to help open the show.  Manson, who has been, to be frank, not on the top of his game, continued the trend with an erratic performance in Dallas.  While his showmanship remains intact, his overall performance continues to suffer from lack of enthusiasm, inebriation, or flat out giving zero fucks.  Slipknot, on the other hand, has built their empire on flash and flair, and never giving an empty performance.  It's hard to decide where to focus your eyes during their shows, since there is so much going on.  It makes it even harder trying to shoot the show but Slipknot never disappoints.  Being a casual listener since their debut album, the old stuff draws me back in and their live performances always amaze.
