Cut Copy / Classixx @ Granada Theater, Dallas, TX

Whenever you hear that Cut Copy is coming to town, you must answer the call.  Easily one of my favorite live bands, or bands in general, it was a no-brainer to find access into this show at the Granada Theater.  I first saw Cut Copy at the same venue in 2008 and once again at 2011.  Their show is simply spectacular.  So much fun, so much excitement.  Teamed with the LA duo, Classixx, this turned out to be one of the finer shows of the year.  Classixx was easily one of the better choices as an opener for the Aussies.  Their dance-inspired sound provided the perfect backdrop and layout of the night's festivities.  Once Cut Copy took the stage, there was no turning back.  Cut Copy may not have the most elaborate stage setups or light shows for one of the most popular indie synthpop bands in the world, but they make up for it in danceability and pure enjoyment.  With a catalog that includes songs like "Hearts on Fire" and "Lights & Music", it's almost impossible to enjoy a Cut Copy show.  On this night, the crowd was even higher on life with a sense of nationality as the US Men's Soccer Team had played earlier in the day.  As the band finished their initial set, the crowd's cheers turned into chants of "U-S-A! U-S-A!".  The band was plenty amused but more than happy to continue their performance.  I cannot stress enough, if Cut Copy is calling, pick up the phone and answer the call.
