NMF Hangover

Hangover? Yes. Alcohol-induced? No.

I had looked forward to the Norman Music Festival so much that now, having it ended, I am left somewhat empty and really don't have a concert to fill its void. Don't get me wrong, I have already planned some summer shows which include Asobi Seksu, TV on the Radio, Animal Collective, the Roots, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Boys Noize, et cetera. No matter how great these shows will be (and will be), I guess I'm just deflated since NMF took place in Norman and brought so much attention to our small, Oklahoma city. The fact that Norman has produced such an efficient and popular festival speaks volumes for an event in only its second year. NMF is a premier, free festival and can do no wrong at the moment; please do not prove me wrong by altering your successful blueprint or making it so corporate that all the fun and local atmosphere is taken away. Thanks.

On a brighter note, I'm going to see Asobi Seksu, TV on the Radio, Animal Collective, the Roots, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Boys Noize and more this summer. I really can't complain. ;)

Also, Deerhunter, No Age and Dan Deacon have announced that they will be touring together this summer. Holy shit!! That's awesome. Better yet, they will all be setup on stage at the same time, doing a round-robin type show in which one will perform right after the other. Hopefully I can add that to the list of shows.

enjoy.
